How does the margin work?

The melt value is what the gold is worth as raw metal at current spot prices. Dealers typically buy at 15–30% below melt value to cover handling, profit, and resale costs.

Setting a 15% margin means you'll bid no more than 85% of melt value — leaving room for a fair resale return. Adjust the margin up for items you're happy to hold long-term, or down if you need quick liquidity.
